Why Is The Trojan Defense Faltering?

Once again, it was the Trojan offense that truly hurt this team, resulting in another loss to a less talented team. Unfortunately, the defense did not help matters, eventually wilting (yet again) in the end, giving up a touchdown by RB Robert Hughes with two minutes left.

I watch this and my mind continually goes back to the hire of 70-year-old Monte Kiffin as Defensive Coordinator, in this package deal courtesy of his son Lane.

I wrote about this some time ago in this blog. The theory that Monte and his Tampa 2 Defense are a poor fit for this young team continues to reaffirm itself in my mind.
