A Very Poor Showing For SC QB Matt Barkley

In the last two weeks, the local media here in LA have been falling all over each other throwing quarterback Matt Barkley into the Heisman Trophy race. The guy did have 20 TD passes on the season, after having thrown five against Cal, going into the Oregon game.

Barkley threw 50 passes tonight. FIFTY. He completed half of those passes. 25 completions, yes, but just one for a score. He threw two interceptions. Oregon Safety Eddie Pleasant dropped two other potential picks in the game.

"Terrible" is what Lane Kiffin termed the SC offense after the game.
