This is what they call hitting rock bottom.
OSU was a 23.5 point favorite against the worst team in the Pac-10 this decade. The Cougs had lost 16 conference games in a row previous to this victory.
WSU QB Jeff Tuel ran for more yardage (103) than did OSU RB Jaquizz Rodgers (93).
OSU had just 261 yards of total offense against a Coug defense that statistically was the worst in the country.
“Man, I can’t remember the last time I wanted to cry after a football game,’’ he said. “It’s been since high school, man. … I love to win. I wish everybody felt that way at times. I look at some guys faces, like, whatever. … you’ve got to put your heart into this. If you sign up for this, you’ve got to give it your all every time you step out there.''
