MONDAY
This, from today's S.F. Chronicle,
"The former Oregon assistant is in his ninth season at Cal, and saying his program is treading water would be kind. The Bears are 4-4 and haven’t been competitive in three road losses. Over the past two seasons, Cal has six Pac-10 defeats by 17 or more points."
I am just as confused by the void at the QB position at Cal as I am at UCLA.
What should we make of Brock Mansion? Coach Tedford says the same thing after every Cal game in which Riley struggles (and that has been a majority) . . . "He gives us the best chance to win."
That does not speak well for Mansion.
I know we, as fans and media, see a lot of what goes on day-to-day in practice. Yet, given Riley's poor performances over the course of this season, and last, it is at least curious Mansion cannot move past him. This is, after all, an Elite 11 QB who has been in this program for 3.5 years now.
